RankBurns is advertising. You buy remaining fuel, not a permanent #1, and not a claim that your product is better. This page is the ranking spec.
Two ways to buy attention
- Get listed — fuel on the ranked board. Rank burns 8% a day. This is the Outbid-style fight.
- Advertise — a 30-day sponsor card that sits between ranks (the outbid.fyi model). It rotates with other ads. It is labeled Ad. It cannot buy #1.
The formula
Hall score = remaining fuel × (1 + unique referred visitors / 100), capped at 3×. Remaining fuel starts as dollars you settled, then burns 8% per day continuously. Today's board ignores decay and ranks only fuel added in the last 24 hours.
Why this beats a lifetime-spend board
On a board like Outbid.lol, rank is cumulative dollars. Once a whale pays, #1 freezes unless someone spends more than they ever have. On RankBurns a silent $1,000 melts. A listing that actually sends people can outrun idle money. That is the product.
Rules that keep the ledger honest
- Minimum $5, whole dollars. Taking #1 on fuel alone costs current #1 remaining + $5. Same-URL top-ups charge only the delta.
- Rank changes only after a settled payment, never on a success URL.
- URL locks after the first paid settlement.
- Clicks de-dupe to one per visitor per hour. 7-day uniques, not since-launch vanity.
- Outbound visits are sponsored placements.

- How does fuel and ranking work?
- Every settled payment adds fuel. Fuel burns 8% per day continuously. Hall score = remaining fuel × (1 + unique referred visitors / 100), capped at 3×. Today's board ranks fuel added in the last 24 hours. Minimum bid is $5. Taking #1 on fuel alone costs the current #1 remaining fuel plus $5. If you already have fuel, you pay only the delta (target remaining minus current remaining), not the full bid again.
- Are bids refundable?
- No, except duplicate charges, our technical failure to credit fuel, or listings we hide for abuse. Checkout is immediate performance of paid placement.
- Is RankBurns advertising?
- Yes. Rank is remaining fuel, not votes, reviews, or quality. Outbound clicks are marked as sponsored. Operator listings are labeled.
- What is a monthly ad slot?
- Advertise is separate from Get listed. For a flat monthly fee you get a labeled Ad card that rotates between ranked rows on the homepage and category pages for 30 days. It does not buy leaderboard rank. Inventory is capped.
